Halibut House Fish & Chips is a proudly Canadian seafood restaurant founded in the charming town of Port Perry, Ontario in 2004. What began as a small, family-run location has grown into one of the well-known seafood restaurants in Ontario, built on hard work, passion, and dedication. The founding couple, Julie and Ken, arrived in Canada as refugees and committed themselves to building a better life. Julie came from Cambodia at seventeen in pursuit of the Canadian dream, spending her early years learning the Canadian way of life while working several jobs to support herself.
She eventually discovered her love for the food service industry, which led to the creation of Halibut House — a seafood restaurant rooted in quality, consistency, and community. Together with her husband, she worked tirelessly for years perfecting their craft, often working seven days a week for more than fourteen hours a day. Their commitment to hard work, continuous learning, and passion for great food remains the foundation of the business today, helping Halibut House grow into one of the trusted seafood restaurants in Ontario while continuing to provide a welcoming and high-quality dining experience.
